Background The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Network Contracting Office 17, is issuing a solicitation for EMS Laundry Services to support the El Paso VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive laundry and linen services that meet the needs of the healthcare facility, ensuring that all items are processed under sanitary conditions and in accordance with industry standards. Work Details The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, management, supplies, equipment, vehicles, and materials necessary for complete laundry/linen services. This includes: - Processing all soiled linens, uniforms, clothing, mops, etc. - Ensuring that clean and soiled items do not share physical space. - Providing pick-up and delivery services twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. - Maintaining an adequate supply of laundered garments and other items to support patient care programs. - Adhering to quality control measures established by the Association for Linen Management (ALM). - Re-cleaning any items found unsatisfactorily cleaned at no additional cost. - Accepting emergency situations that may require alterations in service schedules. Specific tasks include: - Flatwork items conditioning (ironing and folding) such as pillowcases and sheets. - Finishing items placed on hangers including uniforms and coats. - Tumble drying and folding various items like bathrobes and towels. - Cleaning bulk items like mops and returning them in bulk or laundry bags.
