Background

The U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office serves the U.S. District Court within the Eastern District of Arkansas, providing pretrial services, presentence investigations, and post-conviction supervision for the federal Judiciary. The mission is to assist the Courts in the fair administration of justice and to heal and protect the community. The office serves the southeastern portion of the Central Division for the Eastern District of Arkansas, including Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Work Details

The contract requires renovation of office space to meet specific needs, including structural, electrical, plumbing, and cosmetic changes. The space must not be located within 2,000 feet of a daycare facility, school, or park. Renovations include: - New paint at mid-lease occupancy. - Security measures such as secure doors with readers for Facility Access Cards, onsite security cameras at entrances, and duress buttons with direct access to USMS or local police. - Design requirements include acoustic confidentiality in offices and conference rooms, an enclosed reception area with bullet-proof glass and a pass-through window, public restroom access from the lobby with a viewing window for staff, separate restrooms for staff, private offices within secure areas, a secured IT closet with restricted access points. - Construction specifications include solid core wooden doors in steel frames, fire-rated conduits in walls extending from floor to ceiling, 5/8-inch gypsum board walls with selected finishes by the Probation Office. Flooring must consist of Luxury Vinyl Tile in public areas and carpet in private offices.

Period of Performance

15-year full term with a 10-year period for tenant improvements.
