Background The USACE Wilmington District is seeking a contractor to remove and replace the chain link security fence surrounding Cape Fear Lock and Dam 2 esplanade located in Bladen County, North Carolina. The mission of the USACE is to provide vital engineering services, including maintaining infrastructure and ensuring public safety. This contract aims to enhance security at the lock and dam facility by installing a new commercial-grade security fence. Work Details The work includes: 1) Installation of an 8’ commercial grade galvanized chain link security fence with angled 3-strand galvanized barb wire, approximately 280’ long with minimum 9-gauge wire. 2) Provide and install removable commercial grade 6’x10’ chain link security fence panels and posts, ensuring they are flush with the outside of the lock esplanade walls. Each panel must include horizontal and vertical center rails, center posts, tension bars, and double drive-through vehicle gates. Two removable panels will serve as drive-through gates. 3) Ensure no gaps in the fence exceed 2 inches. 4) Identify materials for salvage, reuse, and recycling; all scrap metal must be recycled. 5) Control waste accumulation and dispose of materials off-site daily in compliance with waste management procedures. 6) Restore all disturbed areas to pre-work conditions. The contractor must also ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes, including ADA guidelines.
