Background The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for site modifications at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) – West Campus. The goal of the contract is to prepare the site for the installation of the Siemens Symbia EVO system, which is essential for enhancing medical imaging capabilities within the facility. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for all construction activities necessary for the project, including: demolition of existing structures, installation of new lead-lined walls, and modifications to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Specific tasks include: - Demolition: Remove walls, ceilings, flooring, and casework as indicated in the construction drawings. - Architectural Finishes: Install new lead-lined walls and doors, custom casework, integral sheet flooring, and epoxy-coated finishes. - Electrical Systems: Replace lighting with dimmable LED fixtures, relocate transformers and provide new receptacles and conduits as per Siemens specifications. - Mechanical and Plumbing Systems: Reroute ducts to meet ASHRAE standards and relocate various piping systems. All work must comply with VA Master Specifications and relevant safety codes. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period of 250 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP).
