In accordance with all requirements stated herein, it is the intent of the University of South Carolina to establish a service provider for an intellectual property software system solution for the University of South Carolina system. Th software will be used to manage and track University-owned intellectual property including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Background The University of South Carolina is seeking to establish a service provider for an intellectual property software system solution. This software will be utilized to manage and track University-owned intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The University has been using its current course survey tool for 20 years, which contains data on approximately 1800 patents, 4000 contracts, and 3100 contacts. These numbers are continuously growing. The primary goal is to implement a new intellectual property software system that is operational by early summer 2025. Work Details The contractor will provide services including discovery, development, installation, and integration of the required features and components. Key requirements include: 1. General: - Capability to track all stages of intellectual property prosecution (disclosures, applications, filing dates, office actions). - CRM component to track inventor information (name, contact details, citizenship). - Monitoring federal reporting compliance and interfacing with the NIST iEdison system. - Tracking financials (patent costs and licensing revenue). - Interface with a university website or provide a webpage for marketing materials. - Capability to track intellectual property agreements (licenses, options). - Ability to run and export metrics reports on disclosures and patents. 2. Access: - Single sign-on integration. - Role-based access without multiple logins. - Distinct logins for multiple users with flexible access control. 3. Storage and Archive Management/Disaster Recovery: - Data storage backup plans and disaster recovery capabilities. 4. Training and Support: - Comprehensive training plan combining hands-on and online training for new users and updates for existing users. - 24/7 support for system administrators.
