Background The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is issuing Task Order NOIS3-032 under the NASA Open Innovation Services 3 (NOIS3) contract. This task order is part of the USBR Seal Team Fix Challenge Phases 2 and 3, aimed at addressing critical issues faced by the US Bureau of Reclamation regarding sealing large conduits under high-head conditions. The Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation (CoECI) was established to enhance the use of open innovation and crowdsourcing models across NASA and other federal agencies. Work Details The objective of Task Order NOIS3-032 is to evaluate and test prototype solutions that can effectively seal large conduits that are either free-flowing or uncontrolled due to gate failure. This task order follows previous efforts under NOIS2-200, which generated concepts intended for prototyping in this phase. HeroX, PBC will be responsible for coordinating and administrating these multi-phased challenges, leveraging their extensive experience from prior related projects such as NOIS2-074.
